La pubertad y sus alteraciones

Abstract

Se revisa la fisiología de la maduración sexual, desde la vida intrauterina hasta la pubertad, con énfasis en los eventos que ocurren durante la pubertad tanto en la mujer como en el varón. Luego se describen las alteraciones que ocurren en el desarrollo de la pubertad: pubertad precoz y pubertad tardía, sus causas, metodología diagnóstica y posibilidades terapéuticas. Y, en la tercera parte del artículo se comentan las variaciones normales de la pubertad: adrenarquia prematura, telarquia prematura, menarquia prematura y ginecomastia puberal.

It's reviewed the physiology of the sexual maduration, since the intra-uterine life until the puberty, with emphasis on the events that occur during the puberty as much as in the female as in the male. Then, it's described the alterations that occur in the development of the puberty: precocious puberty and delayed puberty, their causes, diagnostic methodology and therapeutic possibilities. And, in the third part of the article it's commented the normal variations of the puberty: premature adrenarche, premature thelarche, premature menarche, and puberal gynecomastia.
