Recién nacidos de madres adolescentes

Abstract

Se evalúa retrospectivamente a los recién nacidos (RN) de madres adolescentes de menos de 19 años siendo la prevalencia menor que en otros hospitales de Lima, tales madres son predominantemente casadas, primigestas, el tipo de parto más frecuente es el eutócico con menor incidencia de cesárea comparada con la población general del Hospital Nacional Edgardo Rebagliati Martins. La incidencia de RN pequeños para la edad gestacional es mayor en los RN de madres adolescentes y no hubo diferencia en los pretérminos. La incidencia de bajo y muy bajo peso al nacer es mayor en estos recién nacidos, así como la valoración del APGAR menor de 3 es significativamente mayor en recién nacidos de madres adolescentes, Dentro de las causas de cesárea el sufrimiento fetal agudo (SFA) es mayor en estos niños. Se encuentra que esto se debería al tipo de pacientes que atiende el IPSS.
