Totally endoscopic periareolar approach for mitral valve repair. First case reported in Peru

We present the case of a 39-year-old man with a history of progressive dyspnea. Transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography revealed severe mitral valve (MV) regurgitation due to P2 flail as well as severe tricuspid valve (TV) regurgitation. Presentamos el caso de un varón de 39 años con antecedente de disnea progresiva. La ecocardiografía transtorácica y transesofágica revelaron insuficiencia mitral grave debido a un prolapso de P2, así como insuficiencia tricuspídea severa. El paciente fue sometido a tratamiento quirúrgico, que incluyó reparación de la válvula mitral y anuloplastia tricuspídea, realizadas mediante un abordaje totalmente endoscópico periareolar. La evolución posoperatoria fue satisfactoria.
